A group of Nepali youths — who took part in the British 10 K run in London last week — have called upon all to support their initiative to raise funds for three schools in Nepal.
Members of ‘Run for Change Nepal,’ a UK-based voluntary group, in partnership with the Help Nepal Network (www.helpnepal.net) UK chapter, have set target to raise over 10,000 pounds to support Shree Manakot Lower Secondary School, Bajura; Shree Mugu Primary School, Kerabari, Morang; and Shree Thokarpa Secondary School, Sindhupalchowk. Details about these schools can be found at www.runforchangenepal.com
“We have already raised over 3,700 pounds so far and are committed to raise rest of the amount for this noble cause,” said Paras Joshi, coordinator of the Run for Change Nepal, adding, “We would like to request all the Nepali organizations and friends of Nepal around the world to support our initiative by making generous contributions.”

Donations made in the UK will also be eligible for gift aid.
This is the third year in a row that ‘Run For Change Nepal’ members have been taking part in British 10 K Run to support health and education projects in Nepal.
Ram Budhathoki, Dipak Thapa, Niraj Rajbansi, Tripti Joshi, Paras Joshi, Alice Shrestha, Reena Sherchan, Balmukund Joshi, Pratima Joshi, Joshika Basnet, Binod Shrestha, Shiva Sainju, Sailesh Rajkarnikar and Pritesh Gandhi took part in the British 10 K Run on July 11 (last Sunday) which started from the Hyde Park Corner and ended at Trafalgar Square—two historic British sites.
Chairman of the Help Nepal Network UK, Dr Pranab Gyawali, said, “We really appreciate the commitment and sense of purpose demonstrated by Nepali youths studying and working in the UK to support educational institutions in Nepal. Such initiatives deserve full-fledged support from all of us.” nepalnews.com
