HeNN’s Earthquake Relief Effort Update (September 2, 2015)
Help Nepal Network’s Earthquake Relief Effort Update (September 2, 2015)
Dear Help Nepal Network members and supporters worldwide,
We have raised approximately US $920,000 in HNN’s Earthquake Relief Fund as of now. Most recently, the Nepal Rising team of Colorado, USA committed $33,000 to HeNN to reconstruct the Thokarpa Secondary School in Sindhupalchowk. Thank you to the Nepal Rising Colorado team! We are currently working with National Society for Earthquake Technology, Nepal (NSET) to design an earthquake-resistant building for the Thokarpa school.
Please see below our Activity Report from July 25th through August 25th. The focus of our current relief efforts continues to be construction of temporary shelters where there is still need. In addition, we have begun working on designs for the reconstruction of schools. Those projects will begin after the monsoon season and the Dashain/Tihar festivals are over in October.
