Fund Raising for Conflict Impacted Children
To raise funds for the “Conflict Impacted Children” of Nepal, HELP NEPAL Network USA screened a documentary, “Daughters of Everest” in Boston on March 19 and 21, 2005.
The documentary directed and produced by Sapna Shakya and Ramyata Limbu generated a lot of interest. Individuals and institutions have expressed their desire to screen it and have agreed to use the screenings to help HeNN’s fund raising efforts.
HeNN-USA will bring the documentary to Connecticut, New York, Washington DC and other cities this year.
If you want to screen the documentary within the USA to raise funds for HeNN, please write to HeNN-USA on henn-usa@helpnepal.net
About the Documentary
This must see 55-minute documentary brings a unique flavor to a familiar story: the attempt to climb Mount Everest.
In 2000, the first-ever expedition of Sherpa women to climb Everest was organized. This captivating documentary gives a close-up account of the expedition. Although the Sherpa people are legendary for their unmatched skill in mountaineering, Sherpa women are discouraged from climbing Everest, relegated instead into supporting roles in the climbing industry of Nepal.
Told from a woman’s perspective rarely seen on Everest, this film is both a dramatic and inspiring Everest story and an absorbing portrait of the Sherpa community.
HELP NEPAL Network USA is presenting Daughters of Everest , directed and produced by Sapna Shakya and Ramyata Limbu to raise funds to support the “Conflict Impacted Children” of Nepal.
