Sangita to run in New Castle in aid of a Chitwan School
Mrs Sangita Sharma is participating in the Bupa Great North Run (Half Marathon) scheduled to be held in New Castle, UK on 15 September 2013. This is one of Britain’s greatest events with almost 55,000 runners taking part in it. An employee of NHS Grampian Scotland, Mrs Sharma hails from eastern part of Nepal and currently lives in Aberdeen, UK. She received this entry through ballot system. She has recently completed few charity runs including Global Energy Inverness Half Marathon. Her upcoming charity run is Aberdeen Baker Huges 10K. Sangita said, “Running has become a part of my life, it is a great way to support needy people and promote healthy life style in our community in the meantime”.
By taking part in this event, she is raising some fund for Naya Kiran Secondary School, Chitwan, Nepal in association with Help Nepal Network—a UK registered charity. Naya Kiran is one of the oldest schools in Chitwan. The fund raised from the Bupa Great North Run will be used directly to support a number of underprivileged students at the Naya Kiran School.
Mr. Bhanu Prasad Upadhyay, head teacher of the school said, “We heartily congratulate Mrs Sangita Sharma who has been raising funds to support the underprivileged students of our school. We request all the well-wishers to support and encourage her. We also extend our best wishes for her immense effort.”
