HeNN’s Earthquake Relief Effort Update (May 10, 2015)
Dear Help Nepal Network members and supporters worldwide,
We have raised approximately US $355,000 in HNN’s Earthquake Relief Fund as of now.
Our Nepal team has been in discussions with the National Society for Earthquake Technology, Nepal (NSET) regarding designs for earthquake-resistant buildings to be used in the construction of homes, schools and other buildings, as we transition from relief operations to the reconstruction phase of our efforts over the next few months. We are also in discussions with the Nepal Engineers Association to help them with their work.
We have provided relief to 118 villages as of now. You will notice in our Activity Report below that a key focus of our current relief effort is to distribute medication and sanitary supplies to combat the risk of water-borne and other diseases such as cholera and diarrhea.
