Help Nepal Network’s Earthquake Relief Update (May 22, 2015)
Dear Help Nepal Network members and supporters worldwide,
We have crossed the half a million dollar mark in our fundraising efforts. As of now, we have raised approximately US $528,000 in HNN’s Earthquake Relief Fund. In the United States, we are focusing our fundraising efforts strategically on corporate matching contributions and individual efforts in various cities, both of which have generated renewed momentum in our fundraising. Additionally, funds continue to come in from our supporters worldwide.
As of May 20th, we have deployed relief materials to 210 villages/areas. We are currently evaluating medium-term and long-term alternatives for reconstruction of housing and educational facilities, as we expect our work to evolve from relief to reconstruction over the next few weeks.
