Project: Provided funds for ultrasound machine to Amrit Public Health Co-operative Limited
Location: Lamatiya-3, Dang
Cost: NRs. 5,00,000
Project year: 2011
Project Description: Amrit Public Health Cooperatives is a community based organization, and was established as there were no health centers in the area or even in peripheral VDCs. People faced untimely deaths because of minor curable diseases. This organization also takes a lot of initiative to contribute to the wellness of the community. They have conducted free health check-ups, door to door counseling programs, sanitation awareness etc. HeNN had been informed that if Amrit Public Health was provided with an ultrasonogram, they could provide services for 50% cheaper.
The VDC and Deukhuri Life Care Hospital provided them with a grant of NRs. 50,000. HeNN provided Amrit Public Health with NRs. 5,00,000 for the ultrasound machine. The ultrasound machine helped identify diseases that were otherwise unknown hence left untreated. This also helped the people access health facilities in an affordable price and helped expand the benefits of modern technology to this area.
