PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Sri Bagh Bhairav Lower Secondary School was established in 1959 as a primary school and later upgraded as a lower secondary school after nearly 50 years in 2005.
Though the school was in operation, its infrastructure was very poor. Rain water leaked in the monsoon season and the school was in dilapidated condition.
This affected the education of the children resulting in increase of the drop out rate of students in the school. Due to lack of resources, the school had been running with minimum facilities and facing lots of problems in managing classes.
The school was funded by HeNN for the construction of ground floor school building with three rooms in Jan, 2007 and May, 2007. The project was completed in June 2007.
As the school was close to Kathmandu, HeNN volunteers and staffs visited the school in July 2007.
WHAT THEY SAID:
The Principal of the school, Ram Prasad Timilsina, said that the number of students have increased after the completion of new building. He adds that the new building with 4 new rooms was being built with the support from the Department of Education and the foundation work had started.
