PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Manakot Lower Seconadary School was established in 2007 with the support of local social workers, intellectuals and school management committee. The school has just over 300 students out of which 144 are girls. There are 8 teachers.

Bajura is one of the remotest districts of Nepal with limited agricultural land and lack of alternative employment opportunities which force able bodied males to go to India for short and long term employment.

Most of the people are extremely poor, dalits, marginalized.

Due to lack of enough classrooms for the increasing number of students, the school approached Help Nepal Network to construct the additional two rooms and to provide the furnitures.

HeNN has decided to provide financial support to the school. It will do so in three installments.

The first phase of  installment of USD 2112.68/-  was handed over on 27th December 2010 at the HeNN office by a leading industrialist, Siddhartha Rana, during the formal inauguration programme of Help Nepal Network's secretariat in Kathmandu.

Mr Rana had donated 10 million rupees (USD 130,000) to set HeNN Administrative Endowment Fund.
