PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Shree Jagadamba Higher Secondary School was established in 1973 as a primary school and was upgraded to lower secondary, secondary and higher secondary levels in 1983, 1989 and 2007 respectively.
The total population of Madhela Village Development Committee is around 10,000. The majority of people are Tharus. More than 1,680 students are benefiting from the school.
Jagadamba School is also a resource center for other 18 community schools in different village development committees of Bardiya. The school planned to establish well-equipped two-room library building for which CIT (Center for Information Technology) has helped to construct the foundation (as seen in the pictures on the right) However, the construction stopped due to lack of funds and the school approached HeNN.
HeNN decided to provide USD 4,225.35 in three installments. The first installment of the money was handed over on 14 Nov 2010 at the HeNN Office by Dr Upendra Mahato. The construction work is going very well as seen on the pictures.
While handing over the money Dr Mahato, a billionaire and the founder president of Non-Resident Nepali Association, said he would add around USD1,400 personally if the school demonstrated sincerity and commitment towards its work.
