HeNN Health Post in Mugu

Location:

The health post is situated in Murma village, in Mugu district - a very deprived and remote area in Nepal.

 

Partner:

Murma Top Youth Club is the main partner. However, since the establishment of the health post in June 2004, HeNN has received support from different organizations and individuals.

 

Cost:

Construction: US$ 14,000

Operation: The total cost of operating the health post in 2004 was US$ 2,020. The total cost of operating the health post in 2005 was US$ 3,400.
 

HeNN-Sweden, aims to contribute to the day to day operation of the health post. In 2006, HeNN- Sweden donated a sum of US$700 to the health post. We aim to continue to support the health post this year too and look forward to generous contributions from members and friends of HeNN-Sweden.

 

Medical equipments suitable for the health post will be shipped later this month. We thank Dr. Andreas Mårtensson and Kullbergska Hospital Katrineholm, Sweden for making the equipments available.

Project description:

Half the construction costs were provided by the local community. This included land, building material and labour costs. Day to day running of the centre is supervised by the village committee with monthly reports submitted to both the local government as well as HeNN. Various organizations and individuals have provided support to help run the health post. US based charity, Healthcare Nepal, donated US$4,000 in 2004 to support the running cost of the health post. The health post received personnel training support from various organizations in Nepal.
